Ok so I saw this girl who is cute and funny as hell, and I’ve been pining away for her for the last 3-4 days. Real long time huh?…Y’all I get a new crush every 48hrs, it’s unreal. Anywhoo, I finally got up the nerve to message her (she lives in Fort Worth…which is something I also don’t get. Why do the cute ones live in Fort Worth? Who lives in “urban cowboy” town? Really…). So we chit chat, we’re laughing…and I find out she has a girlfriend. WHY?!?! Ugh…Why the freak are all the cute and funny ones taken?! I don’t get it. I am not liking the homo world. I seem to be doomed to crushing on girls who have a “wifey” already. When I thought I was straight, cute and funny single dudes were a dime a dozen. Girls? Not so much.
This past summer I had the privilege to be an underpaid Walmart employee. HELLA studs work at Walmart, by the way. Especially the one I frequent here at school. Have I gotten to talk to any? Nope. A.) Because I usually look busted when I do go there. B.) Because I know first hand that stocking hair remover and cortisone gel in a navy shirt and wrinkled khakis does not make you feel your sexiest. So I’m sure they’re feelin’ busted too. So what to do?
I need advice because I don’t have any gay friends and I swear I go to the straight-est university on earth.

You don’t have a LGBT union or club on campus? If so that might be a good start. Otherwise you might try Craigslist. Just be careful and go slow. Otherwise checkout a WNBA game if you live in a WNBA city. lol
Notice I don’t reccomend clubs. That’s just because I hate them as places to meet someone.

Our GLBT club consists of graduate gay white guys. Not a bad thing, just not my scene. And this was last semester. I think the club is defunct as of right now though. Sigh. Craiglist is a good idea. The girl I was crushing on was on downelink, using the net is cool–but you get really random ppl.@ Tina-cious

I had the same problem and really reached out to the few gay friends I had at the time. Then I started dragging my straight friends with me! I don’t know what town you leave in but is there a local LGBT organization? The usually host a bunch of events like movie screenings. That’s a good place to meet other women that aren’t looking for a hook up. Lesbian open mics are also good. T

I joined a lesbian book club to meet new friends, but I am sure if you joined one you might find a new boo. I love poetry slams, so you might see if there are some within the lesbian community. I know Dallas has to have a lesbian community.
