Is being disgraced…

So Glennisha posted on the upcoming XXL “Hip Hop Soul” mag cover featuring The Game and Fabolous. I agreed with her righteous WTF? about featuring them as representing the mesh of Hip-Hop and Soul…then having the nerve to have the caption: The August edition of the number one music magazine will focus on the connection between hip-hop and R&B.

Sigh. So R&B and Soul are one now? You know really I can go on a rant about how the industry is effing up R&B (never mind Hip-Hop), but whatever.

I’ll put up an honest example of Hip-Hop + Soul: Brown Sugar (2002). Everything from the movie to the soundtrack was on point. Ironically enough the movie subplot was a critique of the very crap XXL is guilty of seven years later.

P.S. I’ve heard the July XXL cover described as “Everything that is wrong with Hip-Hop.” LOL.
