Longing, Lust, and Love: Black Lesbian Stories

I bought this book back in June, but am just now writing about it. Edited by Shonia Brown, it’s an anthology of sexy/romantic stories. The first section titled “Longing” should really be titled “Lust: The Prelude” because it’s just as hot as the actual Lust section…in fact I liked Longing better. My favorite story out of the entire book titled “The 410″ by Nik Nicholson is in the “Longing” collection. Lust and Love were not outdone though, the entire book is beautiful. “Love” was romantic and touching, and many stories in “Love” weren’t particularly erotic. A few were through the eyes of older women reminiscing on days and years passed. I enjoyed them though. How often are Black lesbians at the center of a story, any story?

I know this is a short review, but I don’t think any length of review would do this book justice. It was well written and edited by somebody who knew what they were doing. So support Nghosi Books and check it out!
